YOUR TRAINING GROUND
WHAT IS OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING?
Olympic weightlifting is a barbell sport built around two explosive lifts — the snatch and the clean & jerk. These movements require a powerful combination of strength, speed, mobility, and precision.
Unlike traditional strength training that focuses on slow lifts or muscle size, Olympic weightlifting trains the body to generate maximum power in a fraction of a second, driving the bar from the ground to overhead.
At Actualize Fitness, our weightlifting classes focus on developing technical mastery, strength, and confidence under the bar. Whether you're new to lifting or looking to refine your technique, our coaches guide you through structured progressions in a safe and supportive training environment.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM WEIGHTLIFTING AT ACTUALIZE FITNESS?
Weightlifting Club sessions are designed to help you develop strong technique and progress safely in the Olympic lifts.
In our small group classes, you can expect training elements such as:
Technical Coaching
Your coach closely observes your lifts and provides feedback to improve positions, timing, and bar path.
Snatch & Clean & Jerk Practice
Sessions include drills and variations of the Olympic lifts to refine technique and movement efficiency.
Structured Training Sets
Work through programmed sets where technique comes first, with weight progressing only when fundamentals are solid.
Supporting Strength Work
Exercises such as squats, pulls, and positional lifts help build the strength required for stronger Olympic lifts.
Training With Like-Minded Lifters
Train alongside others who appreciate the craft of weightlifting, creating an environment where members can motivate and learn from one another.
The goal isn’t to rush into heavy weights, but to help you build lifts that are technically sound, efficient, and sustainable for long-term progress.
